‘Through some of my work I try to bring out my strong interest in relationships as a subject, and in particular explore the themes of inaccessibility and distancing which occur between people. I am concerned with the serious problems of our urge for intimacy and honest communication, which more often comes as unreality, disregard, failure to listen to each other - in effect living in different worlds whilst trying to pretend otherwise. I am sure this is something most of us feel down inside at least sometimes, whatever relationship we are in and I think that an element of farce in a basically tragic situation helps not to trivialise but to highlight the point’
